The Neenie Trophy
An internal competition to remember Neenie and to validate and the encourage the use of the phone camera
External judge, if possible; results evening as an evening meet.
This is open, only, to members of the Carradale Camera Club.
There is no theme, and images can be offered at any resolution, but preferably as jpgs.
They can be colour or B&W; both will be in the one, open, category.
Images must be taken on a smartphone, though editing can be done either on the smartphone or on a computer.
Images are to be sent in via this email address, with a deadline of December 4th (for 2024).
There is no entry fee and members may enter up to two images.
The winner will receive, and keep for one year, the Neenie Trophy. The top three images will be printed at A3 and presented to the photographers.
A member can only appear once on the podium each year.
The results are to be announced at the Christmas meal.
The 'judging' will be done by the members, by ranking all of the images (excluding their own). This will be done by email or online.

Frank Walton
Annual external competition between Argyll camera clubs
Rules, fees, and dates set by hosting club
Announced early-December, deadline early-February
Max 5 images per member; digital only
No entry fee
Images not limited to previous twelve months
Can offer images previously submitted, but not if they were in the final club submission
Selection process:
Very soon after deadline, put submissions online and share to members, to give time for them to have a look through.
Decide on range of internal selection scores. Possibly between 10 and 20, with a few 10s and a few 20s. Possibly think of top, middle, lower bands first, then select (20 to 17, 16 to 13, 12 to 10 , depending on band). Have those ranges on the scoring sheet.
Have club meeting (with Zoom) to decide on short list. Anonymised images, by filename shown through twice as a slide show without comment. Then look at each separately, comments on improvements (cropping, sharpening, cloning, etc). After each image, members write down a ‘score’, based on the range. Scores from Zoomers e-mailed in asap.
Members can’t score their own. And, therefore, the overall score for each image must be an average, rather than a total, score.
Soon after the first meet, small group meets to decide on final submission, based on scores, and based on ‘competition’ criteria.
